En 1884, Brongniart signale \u00e0 l&rsquo;Acad\u00e9mie des sciences qu&rsquo;un insecte dont la taille gigantesque d\u00e9passe de beaucoup celle des plus grands insectes actuels a \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9 \u00e0 Commentry.
